Dysregulation of epigenetic gene expression is known to be an important feature of various human diseases. The Jeong Lab seeks to determine the epigenetic basis of abnormal expression of specific genes in the development of recurrent cancers that are resistant to anti-cancer drugs and AMD (age-related macular degeneration). These studies are expected to provide important insights into establishing novel target-based treatment strategies in cancer treatment and prevention of macular degeneration, as well as improving our understanding of the role of epigenetic changes in disease.
